Making diabetes research accessible through visual storytelling

The NIH's CARD program needed thumbnail illustrations for their blog posts covering diabetes research, patient stories, and clinical insights. Each illustration needed to capture complex research topics or patient experiences in a single, compelling visual that would draw readers into the content while remaining accessible to diverse audiences including researchers, clinicians, and patients. I created a series of blog thumbnails that translated scientific concepts and human experiences into warm, inviting visuals, helping the CARD program communicate their mission of advancing diabetes research through illustration that feels informative rather than clinical, making important health information more approachable and engaging.
